What are lorikeets? The Rainbow Lorikeet, (Trichoglossus haematodus) is a medium sized species of Australasian parrot which is native to the eastern seaboard of Australia, eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Lorikeets range in length from 25–30 cm (9.8-11.8 in) with an average wingspan of 17 cm (6.7 in). Their plumage is very bright and colourful.

Feed and interact with the playful birds at Lorikeet Landing (Main Aviary). This unforgettable experience allows the lorikeet birds to land on you as you feed them nectar.

DAILY FEEDING SCHEDULE:

  • 10:00AM-11:00AM

  • 11:30AM-12:30PM

  • 1:00PM-2:00PM

  • 2:30PM-3:30PM

  • 4:00PM-5:00PM

  • 5:30PM-Close

*Please note the Lorikeets participate by choice, so your feeding experience may vary. 

Each Lorikeet Feeding time will have limited slots available, which will be available for purchase at the ticket booth when you arrive ($5.00 per cup of nectar). 

Guests can take their own photos and videos of their experience. 

Bird Kingdom Annual Members will be able to get limited FREE Lorikeet Feeding slots any time of year (based on availability).
